Why not a browser extension
Download extensions need permission to "read and change all your data on all websites". Several popular ones have been removed from the Chrome Web Store after they were caught injecting ads or tracking. A normal web page has none of that access, and you do not need to trust it with your banking tabs.
Every browser works
| Browser | Where the file goes |
|---|---|
| Chrome / Edge (Windows) | C:\Users\you\Downloads |
| Firefox | Downloads, or it asks each time |
| Safari (Mac) | ~/Downloads |
| Chrome (Chromebook) | Files app → Downloads |
Keyboard shortcuts that save time
- Ctrl+L (⌘L on Mac) selects the TikTok address bar so you can copy the link with Ctrl+C.
- Ctrl+V pastes into the SLMtik box, and Enter starts the download.
- Ctrl+J (⌥⌘L in Safari) opens your downloads list.
Saving many videos
Keep this page open in one tab and TikTok in another. Copy, switch, paste, press Enter — it takes about five seconds per video. Please do not use automated scripts against the site; they slow it down for everyone. If you need every video from your own account, TikTok's own data export is better — see how to download all your own TikTok videos.
Editing on a computer
The MP4 opens in Clipchamp (built into Windows 11), iMovie on Mac, DaVinci Resolve and Premiere Pro. Set the project to 1080 × 1920 so the vertical frame stays sharp.
